HACC-Lebanon offers skills training for HVAC, welding, electrical

Take advantage of conveniently scheduled classes to move up in your field

Lebanon, PA – Prepare for tomorrow’s in-demand careers with expert training during Spring 2009 semester at the Lebanon Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Choose from Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) courses that will help you earn necessary certification in just two days, a variety of welding courses scheduled in the evenings or a four-session Electrical Code class. Classes are scheduled to accommodate working students.
“Our programs offer necessary training that enables you to move up in your chosen field, develop specialized skills, and increase your earning potential,” says Cheryl Batdorf, campus associate dean of academic affairs.
Financial aid also is available. In addition to gaining specialized skills, each of the courses can be taken for college credit and turned into a technology studies certificate or welding diploma.
The courses include:
-- HVAC 100 (EPA refrigerant handling, preparation and testing) – meets 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 23 and 24. The cost is $170. The course also can be taken for 1 college credit at a cost of $193 plus a $40 lab fee.
-- HVAC 102 (R410A safety and handling) – meets 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30 and 31. The cost is $170. The course also can be taken for 1 college credit at a cost of $193 plus a $40 lab fee.
-- ELEC 172 (National Electric Code) – meets four consecutive Fridays from 8 a.m. - noon Feb. 13-March 6. This course can be taken for 2 credits at a cost of $386.
In addition, HACC-Lebanon offers courses that can lead you to a welding diploma in just three semesters. Classes meet on Wednesdays and Thursday evenings, now through May 15 (times vary depending on class).
