Lebanon, PA – If you’re interested in the arts, you can study close to home by taking advantage of an expanded arts program at the Lebanon Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Potential students and their families are invited to attend a free information session from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at the campus, 735 Cumberland St.
Those who attend will learn more about HACC’s programs of study, including courses offered this fall at the HACC-Lebanon Campus, including Drawing I, Art Through the Ages to 1300, and Jewelry and Metal Design I.
In addition, attendees will get information on:
  • HACC’s easy enrollment process
  • Financial aid and scholarship options
  • Available services that support student success
Kay Litman, campus director of enrollment services, said that by offering more art courses at HACC-Lebanon Campus, the college is acknowledging the needs of students. “It’s always exciting to be able to offer something new and be responsive to the community,” Litman said.
Cheryl Batdorf, HACC’s executive dean of academics, said the college began exploring the idea of expanding art programs at the Lebanon campus two years ago. “We’ve been seeing more and more interest in drawing classes and other skill-based classes,” Batdorf said. “More students are seeing (art) as a vocation.”
Eventually HACC-Lebanon Campus students will be able to earn an associate degree in fine arts or an associate degree in art and design without having to travel to other campuses to take courses. These transfer associate degrees prepare students to continue their study at four-year institutions.
