Jan. 8, 2010
LEBANON – Local resident Kenneth Phelps has been named campus development officer at the Lebanon Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Phelps, who started work at HACC on Jan. 4, was hired as a result of the college’s Lebanon County business, education, and training needs assessment that verified the need for capital and programmatic expansion.
“I am pleased to have Ken Phelps as the newest team member at the Lebanon Campus,” said Kathleen Kramer, Ed.D., campus vice president. “Ken has valuable experience in community relations in a variety of leadership roles that will prove beneficial to expanding HACC’s partnerships with local business and industry.”
“I look forward to working with the HACC Lebanon team, community and business leaders, alumni and volunteers to build on and expand relationships, partnerships and alliances throughout Lebanon County,” Phelps said.
“I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead in my new role to raise awareness and support for HACC’s ongoing mission to foster educational, cultural, workforce and economic growth in the Lebanon community,” he added.
Most recently, Phelps was general manager of the Lebanon Valley Mall. He was nominated for the “Top 40 under 40” award given annually by the Central Penn Business Journal and was instrumental in developing the first Lebanon Young Professionals program.
He is well known in the Lebanon County community for his volunteer service on the boards of directors of the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce, Lebanon Family Health Services and Leadership Lebanon Valley. His community service also includes serving as an announcer for the Annville Cleona home football and basketball games.
Phelps has a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Florida.
He lives with his wife, Mindi, a teacher in the Annville Cleona School District, and their young son, Clay, in Lebanon.
