HACC Phi Theta Kappa chapter earns international recognition

Chapter president, advisors each receive hallmark awards

Harrisburg, PA – Four individuals from HACC’s Alpha Nu Omega chapter of Phi Theta Kappa received international recognition for their work for the honors organization for community college students.
Hallmark awards were given to Susan Lyddy, president of HACC’s chapter; Patricia Collamer, instructor of sociology at the York Campus, Jennifer St Pierre, associate professor of sociology at the Lancaster Campus, and Thaddeus Sampson, dean of academic affairs in the Communications, Humanities and the Arts division at the Harrisburg Campus and senior professor of communications, each received recognition at the international conference of Phi Theta Kappa national honor society in Orlando.
Lyddy received a Distinguished Chapter President Award for her leadership, involvement in the chapters' programs, friendship with fellow officers and enthusiasm.
Collamer and St Pierre each received the Paragon Award for New Advisors for their distinguished service in less than five years.
Sampson, founding advisor of the HACC chapter, received an Administrator Award of Distinction for his strong level of support and commitment to Phi Theta Kappa.
HACC’s Alpha Nu Omega chapter has been the recipient of many awards including Five Star, Chapter Award of Excellence, and the Scholarship Hallmark Award. The Hallmark Awards Program is the society's capstone awards competition annually recognizing excellence in programs that promote the Phi Theta Kappa hallmarks of scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship. The Alpha Nu Omega chapter is designated as one of the top 100 chapters among the international chapters of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
