Harrisburg, PA — Tango royalty comes to HACC’s Rose Lehrman Arts Center with director and violinist Leonardo Suarez Paz and Cuartetango Argentine music and dance. The Live at Rose Lehrman event takes place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Encounter sensuality firsthand when the dancers and musicians of Cuartetango take the stage. Under Suarez Paz’s leadership, the legendary Cuartetango features a live tango string quartet, bandoneon player and four tango dancers. Born in Buenos Aires and now a New Yorker, Suarez Paz has the tango lineage. His father, Fernando Suarez Paz, was a violinist in the famous Astor Piazzolla ensemble. The production incorporates all expressions of the tango art: music, poetry, song, and dance in an exciting evening of traditional and Nuevo Tango.

The members of Cuartetango precisely shape the texture and spirit of the authentic tango sound through the works of Astor Piazzolla, Osvaldo Pugliese, Miguel De Caro, Osvaldo Montes, Néstor Marconi, and many other composers. Reconnecting with the past, they break new ground with a daring repertoire: from Tango Barocco to post-Piazzolla's Nuevo Tangos. The quartet dazzles with the mastery of this exquisite concert genre.
A special evening for Live at Rose Lehrman patrons features the option of an Argentine dinner, dance demonstration and Cuartetango show package. The package includes an Argentine themed menu of Matambre (stuffed rolled steak) and Chupe de Camarones y Papas (prawns and yellow potato soup) with a selection of Argentine wines.
