Public invited to Haiti relief concert at HACC

Feb. 25, 2010
Harrisburg, PA – HACC students are “banding together” for the benefit of earthquake survivors in Haiti. The Student of Wildwood Activities Team have organized SWAT-Aid, a concert from 5:30-10 p.m. Friday, March 5, in the Cooper Student Center international room on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
“After the earthquake a lot of students came to me asking if there was something we could do to help,” said Justin Mohn, a criminal justice student and president of SWAT. “It was good to see. The majority of performers are HACC students. We decided to model our event after Live-Aid and the Hope for Haiti benefit that was on TV – make a local version.”
On the schedule are band performances, single acoustic pieces, poetry reading and comedy.
Admission is $5, which will be donated in full to the American Red Cross for Haiti relief efforts. Proceeds from the sale of refreshments also will be donated.
