Activities celebrate book store renovations at HACC's Lancaster Campus

L. Marshall Washington, Ph.D., vice president of HACC’s Lancaster Campus, and Shawn Smucker and Jonas Beiler, local authors of “Think No Evil,” the first insider account of the tragic events, personal victories and daily Amish life in Nickel Mines
WHAT:
Grand opening of the newly renovated campus book store
WHEN:
11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7
WHERE:
Book store, lower level of the East Building at the campus, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike
COVERAGE:
A ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. will formally start the two days of festivities aimed at introducing students to changes at the book store. Smucker and Beiler will sign copies of their book. Free hot dogs from noon-2 p.m., grand opening cake, hourly drawings for HACC gear and clothing, and a drawing for a Samsung Galaxy Tab (for HACC students only).
 
Grand opening festivities continue Thursday, Sept. 8, with giveaways, discounts and a drawing for a 15.4-inch HP laptop computer
 
The renovation includes creative ways to maximize existing space that includes OPTO fixtures and displays that provides flexibility to capitalize on wall space, new Lozier textbook shelving, taller gondolas on wheels in a contemporary design, central walkway, ADA-compliant service counter and a student computer kiosk area that provides secure storage and showcase space for higher end electronics.
