HACC-York Campus offers continuing education courses in March

Learn ins, outs of writing, selling, publishing

YORK – Take advantage of three courses aimed at helping you navigate facets of selling, writing or publishing offered in March at the William F. Goodling Center on HACC-York Campus.
“Beyond the Basics of Selling on eBay,” 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays, March 9 and 16, at a cost of $65. Have you been looking to improve your eBay selling skills or even start an eBay business? This new course will teach you how to start or grow your current eBay business with compelling listings, listing tools, marketing, listing management and shipping. A student manual ($35) will be available at the first class.
“Start Writing – Now!” 1-4 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at a cost of $35. There’s more to writing than just putting words on paper, and this course will introduce you to some of the basics. Writing exercises will allow you to experience the skills of word count, creating characters, dialogue, description and plot development. Judy Wolfman, the instructor, is a professional storyteller who often creates her own stories to tell. She is a published author of 10 books, six plays and more than 150 magazine articles and short stories.
“Playing the Publishing Game,” 1-5 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at a cost of $45. Join award-winning authors Judy Wolfman and Lori Myers as they lead you through the publishing maze that will get you and your work of fiction to editors. The first part will cover the book synopsis, query, market research and record keeping. The second part will cover copyrights, permissions, contracts, rights, payments, promotional and marketing ideas, and press releases.
