Local businesses/vendors invited to participate in 'Ladies Night Out' at HACC-Gettysburg Campus

Honor students holding Nov. 2 event to benefit Survivors Inc.
Oct. 3, 2011
GETTYSBURG – Support the local economy while shopping for holiday gifts – and contribute to a good cause at the same time with an upcoming event sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa, national honor society, at HACC-Gettysburg Campus.
“Ladies Night Out” will be held 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the Hoffman Community Room in the campus HUB.
Vendors and shoppers, however, shouldn’t be misled by the “ladies” part of the event title, said Kristy Wagaman, Phi Theta Kappa co-liaison. “Everybody in the community is invited – men and women – to stimulate the economy by supporting local vendors/business,” she said.
“One hundred percent of the entry fee paid by the vendors goes to Survivors Inc., the women’s shelter in Gettysburg,” Wagaman said.
Attendance at the event is free, but donations for the women’s shelter will be accepted at the door. In addition, all money raised at a bake sale during the event also will go to the Phi Theta Kappa’s scholarship fund, Wagaman added.
The group is inviting vendors and local businesses to sign up to participate by displaying goods and services, as well as offering items for sale. In addition to gift items, Phi Theta Kappa members also are seeking representatives from spas, health centers, chiropractors and massage therapists who can give chair massages.
Vendors already participating include Silpada, Azuli Skye Jewlery, Mary Kay, Partylite, Thirty-one Gifts, Miche bags, Creative Memories, Gigi Hill Bags, Tastefully Simple, Cookie Lee Jewelry, Tupperware, Arbonne, Pampered Chef, and Scentsy Candles.
The cost is $20 per table and a donated door prize. Deadline to book a table is Oct. 21. To book a table or for more information, contact Wendy Brubaker at wabrubak@hacc.edu.
