Graduates recognized for academic, clinical achievements

HARRISBURG – Graduates of HACC’s associate degree nursing program and certificate program at the Harrisburg Campus received their nursing pins in a recent ceremony in the Cooper Student Center.
In the associate degree program, 41 graduate nurses have successfully completed HACC’s two-year, clinical nursing program and are now qualified to take the state licensure exam to become registered nurses.
Several graduating RN students were recognized during the ceremony:
- Tara L. Saksek of Halifax and Robert M. Garofalo of Mechanicsburg each received the Adele S. Birx Award for Outstanding Achievement in Nursing Practice.
- Tamara D. Jelks of Harrisburg received the U.S. Army Spirit of Nursing Award.
- Edna M. Haase of Enola and Danielle F. Williams of Harrisburg each received the Nursing Faculty Award for Exemplary Nursing Practice.
- Carlen S. Corcoran of Harrisburg received the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association District 15 Award.

- Emily R. Hodgson of Harrisburg receive the Seth Levy Award for Excellence in Gerontological Nursing.
- Jarvis Smith DoDoo of Port Royal received the Alberta Ziegler Memorial Award for Personal Merit.
- Patricia Borrell of Harrisburg received the Nursing Faculty Award for Exemplary Nursing Practice.
- Michelle E. Cruz of Harrisburg received the Nursing Faculty Award for Clinical Excellence.
- Brenna L. Musser of Elizabethtown received the Homeland Award for excellence in long term care.
