Live at Rose Lehrman announces 2012-13 performance season

Aug. 28, 2012
HARRISBURG — The 2012-13 season of the Live at Rose Lehrman Artist Series features a diverse collection of musical, dance and theatrical performances.

“We thank our patrons for their ongoing support of our series and we are proud to report that we had a 93 percent capacity attendance last season,” said Teri Guerrisi, director of Live at Rose Lehrman at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

“We are also thrilled to share that we were the recent recipient of the Arts Award for Distinguished Service to the Arts in the Capital Region in April 2012. It was a wonderful night to celebrate our contribution to the cultural life of Central Pennsylvania. Season 2012-13 is just around the corner, so make plans to join us.”

The season opens in September with “Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway,” a tour of the musical stage's greatest moments with five Broadway veterans performing many of the most well-known show tunes.

In October, Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company and The Ahn Trio perform “Temptation of the Muses,” a blend of poetry, music and dance. Other musical talent on tap for the season include the legendary jazz bassist Ron Carter and the Ron Carter Trio.

The Four Bitchin’ Babes usher in the holidays with a humorous approach in “Jingle Babes,” which includes a Girl's Nite Out pre-show party. Other music-and-dance performances include the passionate Soledad Barrio and Noche Flamenca, Lula Washington Dance Theatre and The StepCrew.

The family-oriented Imago Theatre’s “Zoo Zoo” brings a cast of zany animal characters to the stage and features pre-show Floyd “SuperReader” Stokes performances and other fun activities for kids in February.
