HACC Graduates 15th Part-Time Police Academy

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Sen. Jeffrey E. Piccola Law Enforcement Complex of the Sen. John J. Shumaker Public Safety Center (PSC) at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, recently celebrated the graduation of seven cadets in its 15th part-time municipal police academy.
 
Several of the graduating cadets also received outstanding achievement awards at the ceremony:
  • Benjamin Andrew Jones, pre-service, of York, received the highest achievement in physical fitness award and the most inspirational cadet award.
  • Larry Eugene Lake III, pre-service, of York, received the highest proficiency in driving award, which is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association.
  • Andrew Edward Cramer, pre-service, of Shippensburg, received the highest academic achievement award.
  • Jonathan Paul Cranshaw, pre-service, of Dover, received the highest proficiency in firearms award.
HACC’s Police Academy is the second largest in Pennsylvania and offers the basic training course mandated for all Pennsylvania municipal police officers. The part-time academy accommodates working students and can be completed in less than a year. HACC also offers a full-time academy, which lasts 20 weeks.
