HACC, Bloomsburg University Partnership Focuses on Skills Employers Seek
HARRISBURG, Pa. – Project management, workplace diversity, communication and conflict resolution are key leadership skills sought by today’s employers. HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, and Bloomsburg University are working to prepare students in these skills.

Through this partnership, HACC graduates who complete an associate in applied science can easily transfer their 60 credits to Bloomsburg University to complete a bachelor of applied science in technical leadership at HACC’s Harrisburg Campus.

Interested students are encouraged to attend a free information session. Sessions are scheduled Oct. 27, Nov. 11 and 29 and Dec. 3, 2016, and will be held from 2-7 p.m. in Room 103 of the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on HACC’s Harrisburg Campus. Interested students can come at any time during a session to speak with employees from HACC and Bloomsburg University.

Most of Bloomsburg’s classes are held online and in the evenings to allow more flexibility for working students. Those classes that must be completed in person will be held at the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg. Part-time and full-time options are available.

“This partnership benefits our alumni and current students. Alumni may be looking for opportunities to advance their technical skills to grow in their positions, and our current students are learning the emerging technology and opportunities to grow into supervisory and managerial positions in the workplace,” said Kathleen T. Doherty, Ph.D., associate provost at HACC.

HACC’s Theatre for Young People Presents ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’
HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC’s Theatre for Young People will present “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” directed by Theatre Professor Brenda C. Eppley and based on Washington Irving’s American classic. The performance is scheduled on Nov. 19, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Studio Theatre of the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on HACC’s Harrisburg Campus.

Washington Irving’s story is brought to life through beautifully delivered storytelling and dynamic visuals, while weaving humor and chills with fast-paced action and memorable characters. This adaptation remains faithful to the original tale by highlighting the elements that are easily recognized: the arrival of Ichabod Crane, his conflict with Brom Bones, their rivalry to win the heart of the coquettish Katrina, one covered bridge that must be crossed and the ultimate encounter with the Headless Horseman. This performance is appropriate for third-grade students and older.

Tickets are $10. For tickets, please call 717-231-ROSE (7673) or visit hacc.edu/RLAC.
