HACC Holds 109th Police Academy Class Graduation

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Sen. Jeffrey E. Piccola Law Enforcement Complex of the Sen. John J. Shumaker Public Safety Center (PSC) at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, recently celebrated the graduation of 38 cadets in its 109th municipal police academy. HACC’s Police Academy is the second largest in Pennsylvania and offers the 20-week basic training course mandated for all Pennsylvania municipal police officers.

Several of the graduating cadets also received outstanding achievement awards at the ceremony on May 26, 2016, at the Dauphin County Technical School. The award recipients are:
  • Jared M. Horvath, driver proficiency award
  • Stephanie E. Phillips, most inspirational class member
  • Stephanie E. Phillips, physical fitness award
  • Ryan F. Plunkett, highest academic achievement
  • Evan R. Shipley, highest proficiency in firearms

The graduates and the police departments they serve are:
  • Donald Christopher Davis – York City Police Department
  • Joshua Lee Gay – Manheim Township Police Department
  • Melinda Marie Gustin – Lower Paxton Township Police Department
  • Jared Michael Horvath – York City Police Department
  • Cassandra Jane McCormack – Lycoming County District Attorney
  • Adrienne Manuella Monroy – Harrisburg Bureau of Police
  • Taylor James Nauman – Newberry Township Police Department
  • Joshua Glenn Phillips – York City Police Department
  • Stephanie Elizabeth Phillips – York Area Regional Police Department
  • Ryan Paul Plunkett – Ferguson Township Police Department
  • Miguel Angel Salazar – York City Police Department
  • Zachary Joseph Saum – Carlisle Borough Police Department
  • Zachery Wesley Saylor – Williamsport Borough Police Department
  • Adam Benjamin Williams – Carlisle Borough Police Department
