HACC Foundation Funds Invest in Technology, Scholarships and Innovative Programs

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Generous contributions from individual and organizational donors continue to generate new HACC Foundation funds that benefit students at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
 
Funds created recently include:
  • Cornerstone EMT Scholarship Award
    Cornerstone Adminisystems, Inc. established this award, which will provide financial assistance to HACC students enrolled in the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program or the Advanced EMT Program.
     
  • Gettysburg Hospital Foundation Scholarship
    This fund was established for students enrolled in the Physician Office Assistant Program at HACC’s Gettysburg Campus. Preference is given to WellSpan Health employees and family members. The Physician Office Assistant Program launched at the Gettysburg Campus in fall 2016.
     
  • The Gifts Foundation Workforce Development Scholarship Award
    This award was established by Dr. Rukhsana Rahman and Mr. Athar Rafiq, a married couple who reside in the Gettysburg area, to provide scholarships for students enrolled in noncredit workforce programs resulting in a certificate or credential. Students who apply for this scholarship must be residents of Adams County.
     
  • HACC Foundation Dental Laboratory Fund
    The HACC Foundation is seeking donations to this newly established fund, which will support the purchase and installation of new dental laboratory cabinets and equipment. These vital updates will ensure HACC dental students are learning and working in a state-of-the-art setting.
     
  • HACC Foundation Veterans Scholarship Fund
    The HACC Veterans Scholarship Fund will give students additional assistance to pay for tuition, books, fees and program expenses while enrolled at HACC. To be eligible, students must be veterans of the U.S. military or active U.S. military personnel; must have been honorably discharged; or must be in good standing. HACC has more than 1,200 active military and veterans studying in the classroom or through virtual learning, making it the second largest active military and veteran population among public colleges and universities in Pennsylvania.
     
  • Major Richard D. Winters Memorial Scholarship
    Major Richard Davis "Dick" Winters (Jan. 21, 1918-Jan. 2, 2011) was an officer of the U.S. Army and a decorated war veteran. To apply for this scholarship, students must be an active duty or former active duty U.S. Armed Services member; have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA from HACC or high school; and be enrolled at HACC’s Lebanon Campus.
     
  • PNC Grow Up Great Scholarship Award
    This scholarship was established by the PNC Foundation. It is available to students pursuing their childcare credential.
     
  • United Concordia Dental Hygiene Scholarship
    Students eligible for this scholarship must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA; be enrolled in the dental hygiene program; and have unmet financial need. Many local dental providers, including United Concordia, employ HACC graduates.
