Sept. 12, 2018
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Nursing students at HACC’s Gettysburg Campus will benefit from a new scholarship established by the family of Margaret J. Keyser, who spent her life serving the community as a registered nurse and volunteer to numerous nonprofit organizations across Adams County.

The Margaret J. Keyser Nursing Scholarship Award will be granted to nursing students who are involved in community service or are second-career students. Additionally, recipients must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and have unmet financial need.

Keyser served on the staff of Gettysburg Hospital for more than 30 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Ohio State University School of Nursing. Upon her retirement in 2002, she dedicated much of her time giving back to the people and organizations in the community she loved, including St. James Lutheran Church, the American Heart Association, Adams County Office for Aging, the Holiday Family Outreach and the Majestic Theater, where she was a volunteer usher.
