One College, Uniting for Success

Sept. 17, 2019
HARRISBURG, Pa. – The 2019-22 strategic plan for HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, was approved Aug. 6, 2019, by HACC’s Board of Trustees. Students, employees, alumni, retirees and employers were given the opportunity to vote on the name of the plan and selected “One College, Uniting for Success.”

John J. “Ski” Sygielski, Ed.D., president of HACC, said, “HACC’s new strategic plan reflects input from many key stakeholders, including business leaders and partners in our region who recognize HACC’s vital impact in our communities. I am proud of the direction the College is taking so that we can better meet the 21st century education and training needs of today’s learners and the employers we serve in our service district and beyond.”

The strategic plan was developed with input from numerous stakeholders and is built on the following learner-centric commitments:
  • We are committed to attracting and enrolling learners in educational opportunities that will enhance their lives and their communities.
  • We are committed to positive relationships, effective processes, improved services and available resources that promote the retention of learners as they achieve their educational goals.
  • We are committed to the long-term sustainability of the College through effective planning, efficient shared governance processes, rigorous resource management and sound accountability measures.

Additionally, the Board of Trustees approved a revised set of core values and new purpose statement that better reflect HACC’s role in the community as a provider of quality educational experiences.
