HACC to Offer Full-Ride Scholarships to Those Impacted By Coronavirus

July 13, 2020
HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, continues to see the impact the global coronavirus pandemic is making on current and future students and wants to do even more to help.

Day in and day out, frontline workers are putting themselves at risk for others, and those who are now unemployed because of the pandemic may be wondering what is next.

Thanks to the HACC Foundation, HACC is offering five full-ride scholarships to future students who are frontline workers or unemployed. Starting in fall 2020, each full-ride scholarship will cover the student’s tuition, books and fees required for the chosen program in a two-year period.

Linnie Carter, Ph.D., APR, vice president of college advancement at HACC and executive director of the HACC Foundation, said, “This is another way that we can thank and support our community. For frontline workers, this may be their way to finding or advancing in a career. For those now facing unemployment, this may be their chance to get back on their feet. THIS is why we are here.”

Students can enroll in any HACC program except for a few with current waiting lists. These programs, the full list of requirements and online application are available at hacc.edu/FullRideScholarship.
