HACC Welcomes New Executive Director of Employee Relations
HARRISBURG, PA. – Maya Green, MHR, a Harrisburg native, joined HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, on June 7, 2021, as the College’s executive director of employee relations.
 
Green specializes in organizing and leading teams, personnel and policy development, manpower and organizational development, and strategic planning. She previously served as a major in the U.S. Air Force in various roles, including senior advisor in Bosnia, Iraq and Germany.
 
Green, a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C., holds a master’s degree in human relations from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, and is currently enrolled in the senior professional in human resources certification program through Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.

HACC Faculty Member Takes Top Leadership Role in State Nurses Association
HARRISBURG, Pa. – Deb Cardenas, DNP, has been named president of the board of the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA).
 
Cardenas is a faculty member in the Nursing Program at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, and is program manager of quality and patient safety outcomes at Penn State Health Medical Group’s Academic Practice Division.
 
She earned her doctor of nursing practice (DNP) from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., master’s degree in nursing from Widener University in Chester and bachelor’s degree in nursing from Albright College in Reading. Cardenas is a graduate of the PSNA Legislative Ambassador Program, was a member of the PSNA Government Relations Committee and Nominating Committee and served as PSNA vice president and secretary. She was also secretary of the Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania.    
 
PSNA represents over 228,000 professional nurses and is a constitutional member of the American Nurses Association.
