HACC Employees Recognized for Support and Leadership

HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, employees are recognized by the HACC Foundation for their accomplishments and contributions to the College.
 
The following employees received awards for the spring 2021 cycle:

Cindy Gavazzi is the assistant vice president of enterprise services. Gavazzi is instrumental in supporting HACC’s student records system. Through her leadership and project management, Gavazzi led the cloud-based installation of a student record program and identified and addressed issues before taking the system online for widespread use. Had the problems not been identified, there could have been enrollment issues. Gavazzi’s passion is in using technology to support institutional goals.
 
Gavazzi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Shippensburg University and a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from the Pennsylvania State University. Her background is in business analysis and project management for software development and data governance. She has been with HACC since 2017.
 
Connie Ogle is an associate professor of foundational studies. Ogle, a long-time employee of approximately 13 years and full-time faculty member, is passionate about supporting students in the Foundational Studies Program who face challenges and can be first-generation and low-income students. Additionally, Ogle has shown leadership by supporting and encouraging other HACC employees with presentations. Ogle is currently enrolled in the Educational Leadership Program at Wilkes University.
 
Cristal Renzo is an associate professor of English. Renzo has shown passion and leadership in her work, especially during the global pandemic. With a background in mediation and stress management, Renzo addressed anxiety and fatigue felt during the pandemic and in remote classrooms. She often provides resources and presentations to fellow faculty members on self-care and awareness. In addition, her classroom space is open to supportive discussions, and she integrates information about racism in her materials.
 
Renzo strives to ensure students feel valued and respected. Renzo has also partnered with a HACC colleague to offer in-class tutoring services for students. She has been with HACC since 1998. During that time, she received an honorable mention for the 2016 Diana Hacker TYCA Awards for Outstanding Programs in English Fostering Student Success and the 2015 NISOD Teaching Excellence Award.
