HARRISBURG, Pa. – The HACC Foundation, a nonprofit educational trust established in 1985 to raise private and corporate revenues in support of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, announces a gift used to modernize computer hardware lab; student recipients of tuition giveaways and noncredit scholarships.

HACC Foundation Provides Over $30,000 to Modernize Computer Hardware Lab
Thanks to generous contributions from individual and organizational donors, the HACC Foundation was recently able to provide $31,212.70 toward modernizing the computer hardware lab at the College’s Harrisburg Campus.

Students in HACC’s Computer Information Systems Program, who take courses on computer hardware and operating systems, use the lab to gain hands-on experiences to prepare to successfully enter the workforce. As the prior equipment became dated, it was imperative for students and employees to have access to the latest computer systems, hardware and software products, cables, drives and more. Now that the lab is upgraded with newer technology, current and future students will be better prepared to succeed in their careers after graduating from HACC.

Sixteen Students Receive Tuition Giveaways
Sixteen students recently benefited from tuition giveaways awarded by the HACC Foundation. Unlike loans, tuition giveaways are free dollars that do not need to be paid back. Each student received $1,500 to apply to their fall 2024 semester expenses.

Seven Students Receive Workforce Development Scholarships 
The HACC Foundation also provided seven students with scholarships for workforce development programs at HACC. The scholarship awards ranged from $450 to $1,000 and will help students pay for expenses related to their workforce development courses.
