“HACC was a highly recommended and close school for me to receive my emergency medical technician certification.”
In November 2016, Aidan’s mother suffered a heart attack. This not only became a challenge he faced early in life, but it set the stage for Aidan to begin pursuing his career goals. “She was cared for by a wonderful team of healthcare professionals who inspired me to venture into the world of healthcare. Without [that], I don’t think I would be who I am today.”
As a high school student in HACC’s Emergency Medical Technician Basic program, Aidan stressed that the College was lauded as an excellent choice for him to begin working toward his goals in the emergency medical field. “HACC was a highly recommended and close school for me to receive my emergency medical technician certification,” he said.
Aidan continued, “They have a phenomenal public safety center (the Senator John J. Shumaker Public Safety Center) with state-of-the-art equipment and highly educated instructors.”
While Aidan was initially nervous about beginning his program at HACC, he had an excellent method for overcoming those feelings of trepidation: “I walked into class and told myself to make at least one friend before the day is over.”
Looking to earn his certificate next year, Aidan’s plans after graduating align with the way his life changed eight years ago – he hopes to serve his community by joining a local ambulance company.
