Several continuing education courses in health care at the Lancaster Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College have been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the Pennsylvania Chemical Abuse Certication Board, State Board of Licensed Social Workers, State Board of Nursing Home Administrators, and the American Society of Radiologic Technologitsts to carry continuing education credits (CEU's) for students who successfully completing the courses.

The courses are:

  • Legal Implications in Health Care
  • Informed Consent Issues in Health Care
  • Balancing Profession and Family for the Health Care Worker
  • Patient Care in the New Millennium
  • Caring for the Caretaker

The next session, Legal Implications in Health Care, will be held Tuesday, March 14, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. The focus will be to heighten students¹ awareness of legal issues faced in a health care setting, and how to be protected from liability.

Balancing Profession and Family for the Health Care Worker is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Students will investigate ways to balance family needs and a career in health care, and to manage stress.

Caring for the Caretaker is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11, 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
