Learn more about the programs offered through the York Center of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, and hear special presentations on college admissions, financial aid programs and careers in healthcare at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 5. The York Center is located at 2010 Pennsylvania Avenue, just north of Route 30 behind The Crossroads (Old Navy) shopping center.

Members of the community can tour the facility, meet students, faculty and staff and learn about the planned expansions coming to the York Center in January and May.

"We have just under 1,000 students now and expect rapid enrollment growth in the next year," explained Jean Treuthart, director of the York Center. "To accommodate that growth, we will add an additional classroom, an enlarged student commons area and an expanded bookstore in January. Four classrooms, an additional computer lab and more faculty offices will follow in May."

Since the York Center opened, the community has shown great interest and a lot of excitement in HACC's presence in the area, according to Treuthart.

"The open house is our way of opening the doors to the community and letting them ask questions and experience the facility," she said. "It also is a good time for students to get information, if they are interested in starting classes in January."

The York Center is now scheduling classes for the spring semester. Anyone interested in more information should contact the information office at 718-0328 or click on the Website below.
