"We've had great support from the Hanover Chamber of Commerce and from the community for our programs in Hanover," said Shannon Harvey, associate dean of academic affairs at HACC-Gettysburg Campus. "South Western School District and the Hanover Hospital provide excellent facilities for our daytime and evening classes, and our new partnership with Guthrie Memorial Library enables us to expand student support services to our Hanover students."
HACC offers fifteen daytime classes at the Hanover Hospital Community Health & Education Center and thirteen evening classes at South Western High School. At both locations, students can take biology, English, history, math, psychology and other general education courses. These course credits can be applied toward a HACC career associate degree or toward a transfer associate degree that enables students to transfer their HACC credits to a four-year institution.
HACC library reference services will be available at Guthrie Memorial Library on Tuesday evenings, 5:30-8:30 pm, from September 5 through December 15. Instructors in the HACC Hanover classes will provide information to students about how to schedule tutoring appointments.
"We are excited by the opportunity to work with HACC-Gettysburg Campus," said Priscilla Greco McFerren, director of Guthrie Memorial Library-Hanover's Public Library. "We look forward to having HACC library staff and tutors here, and we will welcome HACC students with great anticipation."
