HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, has hired Marjorie A. Mattis as director of educational services for the York Center, which is located at 2010 Pennsylvania Avenue.

As director of educational services for HACC's York Center, Mattis provides daily leadership of the Center's academic programs, including determining the schedule of courses offered, as well as recruiting qualified faculty members. She works closely with the executive director in administering academic polices and fiscal operations.

Prior to joining HACC, Mattis spent more than 10 years with Pennsylvania Highlands Community College in Johnstown. During that time, she took on positions of increasing responsibility with the most recent being associate dean for student development, director of advising. Among her accomplishments were the development of an under-represented student recruitment and outreach grant from PHEAA, management of a centralized student advising model within a multi-site campus, and development of a one-stop student development center designed to provide a high level of customer service to new and returning students.

Mattis is currently pursuing her doctorate in education through Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She holds both a master's of education degree and a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Saint Francis College, Loretto. She is a resident of York.
