The Grand Rummage Sale at HACC-Gettysburg Campus promises a room full of bargains in good quality clothing and household items. Sale hours are 9 am to 1 pm on Thursday and Friday, October 19 and 20 and the following Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 26, 27 and 28. The sale takes place in the North Gettysburg Center adjacent to the HACC campus at 731 Old Harrisburg Road, near Weis Markets and Adams County National Bank.

The sale is being coordinated by students in the Phi Theta Kappa honor society as a service project, and all proceeds will go to the campus United Way campaign. The rummage sale also serves as a PTK "green" project because it focuses on the recycling of clothing and other goods.

"The room will be jam-packed with clothing for children and adults - all sizes, all types," said PTK member Gena Richardson, who is one of the sale coordinators. "Items will be reasonably priced with special sales on the final Saturday."

HACC is accepting rummage sale donations from students, faculty, staff and from the community. Good used clothing and household items may be taken to the HACC campus during business hours Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 6:30 pm, and Fridays, 8 am to 5 pm. Donation boxes are in the lobby at the main campus entrance.

The campus sponsors a variety of projects to raise money for their annual United Way of Adams County fund raising campaign. In addition to the Grand Rummage Sale, the college plans "Expresso Yourself," featuring open mike readings of poetry and fiction, on October 16, 7 to 9:30pm. "Guitars for Good," scheduled for November 9, also from 7 to 9:30 pm is a musical celebration which welcomes musicians from the college and the community sharing their talents in a coffeehouse atmosphere.

HACC also plans a "Scaryoke" Halloween session, a silent auction, a bake sale, and other events to benefit the United Way campaign. All events are open to the community. For additional information, call HACC at 337-3855 extension 3021.
