An exhibit by New Oxford artist bobbi becker (who doesn't use capitals in her name because she likes the look of the lower-case bs) is scheduled for the HACC-Gettysburg campus from July 11 - Aug. 30. The exhibit will include original paintings and prints of houses and farms, country scenes, and familiar local landmarks.

The self-taught artist paints in a whimsical folk art style which reflects the inspiration she finds in "woods, nature, the local countryside, gardens, children, animals" and even her beloved pets - two dogs, two cats and two goats. She says that "Joy is everywhere," and that her style reflects her "almost childlike curiosity and optimistic view of the world."

Becker also shows her paintings and prints at the bobbi becker gallery in New Oxford. Her work has been seen in national magazines including Country Home and Country Living, and in the gift shops of The Museum of American Folk Art and Colonial Williamsburg. More information is available at her website, www.bobbibecker.com.

Exhibit hours at HACC are Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. - noon. The HACC-Gettysburg Campus is located at the North Gettysburg Center on Old Harrisburg Road, near Weis Markets and Adams County National Bank. For information, call 337-3855.
