LANCASTER – Developing a business plan doesn’t need to be a painful exercise. In fact, it can be much like planning a vacation, says Barbara Schreiber, chief idea officer for The Idea Zoo.

Schreiber will share her approach to developing a business plan during the Women’s Talkabouts scheduled for the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

“The Healthiest Thing You Can Do for Yourself and Your Business” will be the topic of the free, informal networking session noon-1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, on the campus at 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike. Participants are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. HACC will provide a dessert and beverage.

Schreiber’s York-based business offers simple business solutions for individuals, teams or groups, said Kathy Snavely, a business counselor with HACC’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies. Her presentation will help ease the anxiety that many business owners feel when it comes to developing a business plan.

“Often times it comes down to setting your mental attitude, so it is not drudgery,” says Snavely, adding that Schreiber’s approach is built upon thinking outside of the box and never going with the expected. “Her presentation will be more than interesting; she’ll make it enjoyable.”

Women business owners interested in attending the Sept. 5 session should call 1-800-ABC-HACC (222-4222), ext. 1311 to reserve a seat.
