YORK, PA – HACC’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies is offering a series of free workshops next week for anyone thinking about navigating the waters of business ownership.
“These sessions are aimed at giving would-be entrepreneurs valuable information and tips on developing a business plan, getting financing, sales and successful marketing,” said Kathy Snavely, HACC business counselor and co-facilitator of the workshops, which will be held Monday-Thursday, Sept. 22-26, at various convenient locations around the county.
In addition to Snavely, who also is the owner of Lightkeeper Consulting in Mt. Gretna, facilitators include Barbara Schreiber, chief idea officer of The Idea Zoo in York, and Lisa Steffen, HACC business counselor.
The hour-long sessions include a 45-minute presentation and 15-minute question-and-answer period. To attend any of the free “Start Your Own Business” workshops or for more information about IES, call 1-800-ABC-HACC (800-222-4222), ext. 1311.
The workshops also will give participants an overview of the services offered by the Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies at the York Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, including the fifth annual Women on the Move day-long conference “Confident, Capable and Connected!” at the York Campus in October.
IES gives York County entrepreneurs access to a support system developed specifically to help them launch their businesses. HACC can provide an ongoing business consultant relationship with the payment of a $25 registration fee. The one-on-one counseling is free, with counselors serving entrepreneurs from the initial idea stage through the first three years of operation.
