Fall workshop set Nov. 21 at the Harrisburg Campus

Harrisburg, PA – Veteran physics and physical science educators as well as those new to the field are invited to the fall Physics Teaching Resource Agents (PTRA) workshop offered at the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

“Teaching Physics” (whether for the first or 50th time) is sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers. It runs from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, in room 230 of Blocker Hall.

This workshop will be a sharing of methods and ideas for physics or physical science teachers of all experience levels. Participants are invited to bring and share a favorite activity, demonstration or laboratory that has been effective. In addition to learning teaching techniques, data analysis and some laboratory examples, the workshop will be a day of sharing what works for you with other physics teachers.

The workshop precedes the fall meeting of the executive board of the AAPT/CPS which is being hosted by HACC on Nov. 22.

Cost of the workshop is $60. Checks should be made payable to AAPT/CPS and mailed to Professor Gregory Dolise, HACC – B232F, One HACC Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
