LANCASTER – Satisfy your thirst for knowledge by attending one of several “Living & Learning” seminars presented by the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
A dozen different courses will be offered at the one-day event from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Garden Spot Village, 44 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland.
“Living & Learning” includes continental breakfast, buffet luncheon and three 90-minute courses, ranging from history and current events to Renaissance Art and self defense for seniors.
The cost is $45 with a registration deadline of Oct. 6. Luncheon will be served from 11:45-12:30 p.m.
The lineup of sessions and instructors includes:
Session I (8:30-10 a.m.) – “Mary Jemison: French and Indian War Survivor” by Debra McCauslin, “Self Defense for Seniors” by Ross Deck, “Hymns and Histories” by Melody Scofield and “Foreign Policy: What Does it Mean for the Next President?” by Mike Corradino.
Session II (10:15-11:45 a.m.) – “Underground Railroad’ By Debra McCauslin, “Foreign Policy: What Does it Mean for the Next President?” by Mike Corradino, “Renaissance Art” by Fred Rodger and “Point of View: Professional Orchestra Player” by Priscilla Howard.
Session III (12:30-2 p.m.) – “Current Affairs: Oceans and Pennsylvania” by Geremea Floravanti, “History of American Music” by Priscilla Howard, “Iconography” by Fred Rodger and “Lancaster County in the Gettysburg Campaign” by Tom Diottee.
After reviewing the courses, participants should select one course for each of the three sessions, listing a second choice as well.
