LANCASTER – Bill Davis, author of “Breaking Autism’s Barriers: A Father’s Story,” is keynote speaker for Disability Awareness Day next month at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
The offices of Disability Services, Multicultural Affairs and Student Government are presenting an educational and interactive event on campus dedicated to raising awareness of both physical and hidden disabilities.
The public is invited to attend the free event scheduled from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in rooms 222 and 227 of the Main Building of the campus, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike.
Davis, the father of four including a 15-year-old son, Christopher, who has autism, is an advocate who speaks nationally about autism. The Quarryville resident will speak from noon-1 p.m. about his family background, understanding of family dynamics, safety, advocacy education and bullying.
