HARRISBURG – Every cook enjoys a favorite gadget, mixing bowl, bakeware piece, serving dish or other culinary device. For the next showcase in the Radius, HACC Gallery and Museum Shop series, craftsmen across the state have taken those favorites and crafted them into artistic, and usable, pieces – just in time for holiday gift giving.
Radius Showcase Series – Creative Kitchen will be on display Nov. 1-Dec. 31 at the gallery shop at The State Museum of Pennsylvania, 300 N. Third St., Harrisburg. A holiday open house will take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13. Author Helen Schwartz will sign copies of her book, “Tell Them All About It: A Gettysburg Photo Essay” from noon-2 p.m. and artist Paul Hoch will present a woodworking demo from 1-3 p.m. Refreshments will also be part of the open house.
“The perfect showcase to approach the holiday season when shoppers are looking for a unique gift for their loved ones,” said Jessica Lantz, curator of arts and assistant manager of Radius. “Some of our biggest sellers in Radius are functional handy items such as coffee mugs, bowls, egg separators and garlic and butter keepers.”
Hours are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and noon-4:30 p.m. Sunday. Closed Mondays.
