Anyone who has thought about enrolling at HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, is encouraged to attend an open house 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 at the Lebanon Campus, 735 Cumberland St.

The all-day event offers something for everyone from high school students and their parents to adults seeking a career change or other education options.

"This is a drop-in event that we planned for the whole day so more people can take advantage of it," said Kay Litman, student services coordinator, HACC Lebanon. "It also is the perfect time to begin the application and enrollment process if you want to register for the summer and fall semesters."

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about various programs, including health care, sciences and business, as well as language initiatives like ESL and a Spanish GED. They also can meet faculty and advisers who will discuss the programs, the application process and financial aid. Tours of the campus will be offered. A bilingual college representative who speaks English and Spanish will be available throughout the day.

The event offers students who already know what they want an opportunity to meet faculty and complete an application and placement testing, all without an appointment, said Litman.

"They can talk with advisers and potentially walk out with a class schedule, if they choose," she said. "Getting an early start also lets them finalize financial aid in advance and know where they stand."

Advance registration is not required for the open house. However, it may be helpful to call 270-4222 to determine if there is any documentation required for registration purposes.
