Elementary-age students can explore robots, gears and CAD software
Feb. 5, 2009
Youngsters in grades 3-5 who fancy gear-powered cars, robot assembly or building airplanes are invited to explore the world of engineering during Kids College Discovery Day at the Harrisburg and Lancaster Campuses of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Students can realize the engineer inside by using imagination to dream a project, Solidworks Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to design it, and their hands to build it.
Sessions are Feb. 21 at the Harrisburg Campus and Feb. 28 at the Lancaster Campus.
Each program runs from 9 a.m.-noon and includes instruction, materials, hands-on application, and – most importantly – a fun learning experience. The cost per session is $30. The programs are offered through HACC’s Community Education Center.
Easy registration is available online at http://vc.hacc.edu.
