CHAMBERSBURG – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, will host information sessions for new students interested in pursuing career programs in mechatronics, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), technology studies or business at the Franklin County Career and Technology Center (FCCTC).
Sessions are scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, and 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the FCCTC, 2463 Loop Road, Chambersburg. Potential students are invited to attend either session.
Program representatives will be on hand to discuss the curriculum, careers in the mechatronics -- a high-demand technical field combining mechanical systems and electronic controls -- and opportunities to complete a diploma, certificate or associate degree in this high-demand career.
New for spring 2010, HACC has added diploma, certificate and some degree programs in HVAC, electrical technology, technology studies, and business.
In addition, students will be able to apply for admission to the program, register for classes, make tuition payments and meet with financial aid representatives. Classes are scheduled during evening hours to accommodate the schedules of those who are currently working.
An RSVP is suggested, but not required. For more information, for directions to the Franklin County Career & Technology Center, or to reserve a seat, call Evelyn Weaver, HACC Franklin County coordinator, at 385-2821, or use the link to send an e-mail.
