May 1-31 Radius Featured Craftsman – Artist Pam Tilly of Lemoyne uses dichroic glass, meaning two-color glass, to create one-of-a-kind jewelry. Only when the kiln is opened after cooling does she know what the newly formed pieces look like. Tilly applies micro-thin layers of metal to the glass using a vacuum chamber that simulates zero gravity. The types of metal and the order in which they are deposited determine the color. The dichroic glass process fuses the technology of the space industry with age-old craftsmanship.

May 8 An open house with the May Featured Craftsman, Pam Tilly, featuring a glass demonstration from 1-3 p.m.
Hours for Radius are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon-4:30 p.m. Sunday. There is no charge to enter the shop. Radius, on the ground floor of the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Third and North streets, is a partnership between HACC and the Pennsylvania Historical Museum Commission. The gallery and museum shop carries the work of more than 60 craftsmen, including HACC students, members of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and other talented artists from around the state.
