LANCASTER – History, art and personal introspection are just some of the choices in this fall’s “Living & Learning” seminars presented by the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Half a dozen different courses will be offered at the one-day event from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Garden Spot Village, 44 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland.
“Living & Learning” includes continental breakfast, buffet luncheon and a selection of two 90-minute courses in the morning, and a special afternoon presentation.
The lineup of morning sessions includes:
Session I (8:30-10 a.m.) – Choice of “The Giants of the Gilded Age,” “Famous Pennsylvanians: Grace Kelly”or“How Much is that Doggie in the Foxhole: Canines in Combat.”
Session II (10:15-11:45 a.m.) – Choice of “Did I Say That? Popular Sayings,” “Famous Pennsylvanians: Daniel Boone”or“How Much is the Doggie in the Foxhole: Canines in Combat.”
Session III (12:30-2 p.m.) – “A Musical Revolutionary: Jerome Kern” presented by Donald Koones, Ed.D.
After reviewing the courses, participants should select one course for each of the two morning sessions, listing a second choice as well.
The cost is $39 for Garden Spot Village residents and $49 for non-residents with a registration deadline of Oct. 3.
