HARRISBURG – HACC’s Live at Rose Lehrman 2012-13 season opens with composer and lyricist Neil Berg’s “100 Years of Broadway” featuring an all-star Broadway cast on Thursday, Sept. 27.
The show, featuring an all-star Broadway cast, opens at 7:30 p.m. in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Live at Rose Lehrman also offers patrons a “Big Bite of Broadway” dinner-and-a-show package with dinner at 5:45 p.m. at the C. Ted Lick Wildwood Conference Center.
One of the most popular Broadway concert shows in the country over the past few years, “100 Years of Broadway” toured more than 120 cities in 2010-11.
“What Berg’s cast does is re-create original scenes and emotional highs, not to mention jaw-dropping thrills, courtesy of these magnificent vocals,” wrote reviewer William Kerns of the Lubbock (Texas) Avalanche-Journal.
The cast will feature the stars from original Broadway, including the husband-wife team of Sandra Joseph and Ron Bohmer, who co-starred in “The Phantom of the Opera;” Carter Calvert, star of “Smokey Joes' Café” and “Cats;” Lawrence Clayton, star of “Dreamgirls” and “It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues;” and Danny Zolli, star of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Evita.” They will perform songs from those and other shows spanning the various eras of Broadway, from the early decades to Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The “Big Bite of Broadway” menu includes: filet mignon stuffed with crab meat (a vegetarian option is available), oven-roasted baby baked potatoes, glazed carrots, tossed salad and New York style cheesecake with cherries. The deadline for reservations is Friday, Sept. 14, 2012.
Show tickets are $38 for adults and $19 for students; dinner-and-a-show tickets are $60 for adults and $45 for students. To order tickets, call 717-231-ROSE (7673) or go to  www.LiveatRoseLehrman.org. Seating is limited.
