HARRISBURG – This summer 2012, the Harrisburg Campus at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, offers school-age youth a number of camps where they can explore new subjects and have fun. The schedule includes:
At HACC’s Harrisburg Campus, One HACC Drive
- Theatre for Young People Summer Theatre Camps
Theatre for Young People was created to offer an affordable venue for area young people to celebrate and gain exposure to every aspect of theatre including acting, dance, makeup, puppetry, playwriting and designing sets, costumes and light. Youth ranging in age from 4 to 17 can find their creative potential in a series of week-long camps offered from June 11 through Aug. 3, 2012.

Camp 1 - Noon-2 p.m., June 11-15, 2012, for ages 13-17 ($75)
Camp 2 - Noon-2 p.m., June 11-15, 2012, for ages 9-12 ($75)

Camp 3 - 9-11:30 a.m. June 18-22, 2012, for ages 9-12 ($75)

- Wiggle, Giggle and Move! Creative Play for the Young Performer
Camp 7 - 9-10:15 a.m. July 16-20, 2012, for ages 4-6 ($70)
- Theatre Explorers
Camp 8 - 9-10:30 a.m. July 9-13, 2012, for ages 7-9 ($50)
Camp 9 - 9-10:30 a.m. July 23-27, 2012, for ages 7-9 ($50)
(Camp 8 can be combined with Camp 10 and Camp 9 can be combined with Camp 11 for a full day experience.)
- Magical, Mythical Story Theatre
Camp 10 - 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. July 9-13, 2012, for ages 7-9 ($50)
Camp 11 - 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. July 23-27, 2012, for ages 7-9 ($50)
(Camp 8 can be combined with Camp 10 and Camp 9 can be combined with Camp 11 for a full day experience.)
- Magic Box: Open and see what items to use to create a play by the end of the week.
10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. July 16-20, 2012, for ages 9-12 ($75)

A Theatre for Young People camp is offered at the Grace Milliman Pollock Performing Arts. The session is $74 for Camp Hill residents, $84 for all others. The camp is 9:30-11 a.m. for youth ages 5-8. Registration for the camp can be completed at

- Calling all Young Actors! All Aboard!
July 30- Aug. 3, 2012
Join a voyage as you sail a ship around the world in search of adventure. This fast-paced, fun-filled class offers a delightful opportunity to improve communication and collaboration skills and basic acting principles. Taught by Janet Bixler, MA, Theatre Education.

Morning Session 1 - School of Film, 8:30-11:30 a.m. ($99)

Afternoon Session 1 – Boe-Bots (Monday-Tuesday) and Computer Aided Design (Wednesday-Thursday), 12:30-3:30 p.m. ($99)
Afternoon Session 2 - Video Game Design (Monday-Tuesday) and Web Development (Wednesday-Thursday), 12:30-3:30 p.m. ($99)
Students enrolling in more than one session receive a $7 meal voucher each day.

For high school juniors and seniors, held at HACC’s Midtown 2, 1500 North 3rd St. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 9-13, July 16-20, July 23-27, July 29-Aug. 3, 2012. ($99)
