HARRISBURG – Live at Rose Lehrman presents legendary jazz bassist, Ron Carter, and the Ron Carter Trio at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012.
Carter has been described as “the preeminent jazz bassist of the last several decades” by reviewer Brad Walseth on JazzChicago.net. Carter has more than 2,000 albums to his credit and has performed with giants of the jazz industry, including Miles Davis, B. B. King, Tommy Flanagan, Gil Evans and Lena Horne. He is a two-time Grammy Award winner and regularly plays at legendary jazz venues throughout the world.
Carter also is a well-known composer, arranger and educator. He recently retired as Distinguished Professor leading the jazz program for the City College of New York, and is on the board of directors of the Harlem Jazz Music Center.
The Ron Carter Trio captivates both long-time jazz lovers and newer fans alike. Concert-goers can anticipate an eclectic evening of music, one where timeless jazz standards are nuanced in new and original ways.
