Lower Dauphin High School placed second and Mechanicsburg Area High School placed third in the team competitions. Individual awards were given to the top 10 students with the highest scores.
In first place was senior Ted Meador of Lower Dauphin Area High School, a position he maintained from last year. Luke Bent, a senior at Harrisburg Academy, tied for second place with Saarang Deshpande, a senior from Manheim Township. Coming in fourth was senior Corey Smithmyer of Mechanicsburg Area High School, who placed second in last year's competition.
The remaining top 10 finishers and their high schools were: Teressa Chambers, a junior from Cumberland Valley High School; Michael (Renqing) Wang, a junior from Harrisburg Academy; Patrick Yang, a junior from Camp Hill; Amar Paul, a senior from Elizabethtown High School; and Sean Collins, a junior from Carlisle.
The students completed a series of mathematical problems coordinated by HACC’s math faculty. They had to calculate answers working as a team, individually and in relays. This is the 23rd year for the contest.
Harrisburg area schools competing included Annville-Cleona High School, Camp Hill High School, Carlisle High School, Central Dauphin High School, Cumberland Valley High School, Dauphin County Technical School, Delone Catholic High School, Elizabethtown Area High School, Greenwood High School, Harrisburg Academy, Hershey High School, Hershey Christian School, Lower Dauphin High School, Mechanicsburg Area High School, Middletown Area High School, Susquehanna Township High School, Susquenita High School and Upper Dauphin Area High School. Lancaster area schools included Manheim Township High School and Solanco High School. Gettysburg area schools included Northern High School and Shippensburg High School.
