HACC Professor's Photography to be Displayed at Fenêtre Gallery ‘Monologues: From the Family Series, 2007-13’ opens Sept. 20
Aug. 12, 2013
HARRISBURG, Pa. – Geoffrey Scott will exhibit his photography, “Monologues: From the Family Series, 2007-13,” at Fenêtre Gallery at the Midtown 2 location of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, Friday, Sept. 20 through Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013.

A reception for the artist will be held Friday, Sept. 20 from 6-8 p.m., during “3rd in the Burg.”

There is an enigmatic quality to Scott’s photographic imagery. “In most of the pictures the moment captured falls in the middle of an event or game,” Scott said. “However, my purpose was not to remind the subjects of that day or event, but more to evoke a mood or to provide the viewer with a level of participation. The subjects are collaborators, sometimes knowing they are being photographed, but always moving at will.”

Scott has a master’s degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, R.I., and a bachelor’s degree from Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pa. An art educator since 1970, Scott teaches photography at HACC. His work has been in Pennsylvania’s Art of the State and in group shows at the Sol Koffler Gallery, Rhode Island School of Design.

Fenêtre Gallery is on the second floor of HACC’s Midtown 2 at 1500 N. Third St. Entrance to the building is on Reily Street. The gallery is open on Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m. and the third Friday of the month 6-8 p.m., or by appointment. Events are free and open to the public.
