College takes several steps toward meeting commission’s standards on three goals
The steps the College has completed to have the warning removed include:
On Nov. 15, 2012, Middle States issued a warning to HACC regarding the College’s performance on three of the Commission’s 14 standards for accreditation. This warning does not impact HACC’s accreditation status or ability to offer financial aid.
The College is making every effort to demonstrate compliance with the Middle States Standards, and will submit its monitoring report by Sept. 1, 2013. The Commission will then conduct a small team visit to assess the College’s compliance with the Commission’s standards. Following the on-site visit, a report by the visiting team will be completed. The monitoring report, the small team report and the institutional response to the small team report will be considered by the Committee on Follow-Up Activities, and then by the Commission as early as December.

HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, is moving forward on steps necessary for accreditation compliance by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.The steps the College has completed to have the warning removed include:
- Engaging two educational consultants, both of whom have experience assisting other colleges in removing their warnings, to lead and manage the effort to remove HACC’s warning status.
- Acquiring the software license for, designed and implemented the TK20 Assessment Management System. This system enables the College to comprehensively aggregate and interconnect existing and new documentation of assessment and institutional effectiveness in a platform that accommodates a wide scope of users and activities.
- Forming a College-wide task force that has created the College’s Institutional Effectiveness Plan and revised administrative procedures, which have been approved by Cabinet in accordance with the new shared governance process.
