LANCASTER/LEBANON, Pa. – Two administrators have been named to leadership roles at the Lancaster and Lebanon campuses of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Victor E. Ramos, who joined HACC’s leadership team on June 2, 2014, is vice president of both campuses. Laurie A. Bowersox will step into a new position of executive director of HACC’s Lebanon Campus on June 30, 2014.

Their demonstrated success will support these campuses and complement our goal of creating opportunities and transforming lives,” said HACC President John J. “Ski” Sygielski, Ed.D.
In his new role, Ramos is responsible for the strategic direction and overall operations of the two campuses; the achievement of enrollment projection goals; the provision of student support services and programs; and the development of partnerships with business, education and government entities.
Ramos, who comes to HACC from St. John’s University, New York, has more than 20 years of experience in financial planning and budgeting, campus operations, alumni relations, fundraising, grants, sponsored research and capital facilities projects.
His career in higher education began in 1993 at St. John’s University, where he also earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in business administration with a focus on public accounting. He has served in several roles, including campus director for the Staten Island Campus, campus director for the Manhattan Campus and most recently as associate vice president of institutional advancement.
Ramos replaces L. Marshall Washington, Ph.D., who left HACC in March 2013 to become president of New River Community and Technical College in Beckley, West Virginia. In May 2013 the structure of HACC’s Lebanon Campus was modified with the vice president position combined with the vice president of the Lancaster Campus position. A new position of executive director of the Lebanon Campus was established. Lois Schaffer served as interim vice president of HACC’s Lancaster and Lebanon campuses until June 2, when Ramos joined the College.
As campus executive director, Bowersox will be responsible for overseeing the administrative operations for HACC’s Lebanon Campus and collaborating with the academic leadership team on programming and learning spaces. In addition, she will cultivate relationships between HACC, the community and external agencies.
Bowersox has 15 years of experience as a teacher, dean of students and elementary principal in public schools in both Lebanon and Cumberland counties. Prior to joining HACC, she was a principal at Eastern Lebanon County (ELCO) Intermediate School.
Bowersox earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in educational leadership and K-12 principal certification, all from York College of Pennsylvania. She also has a master’s degree in education from Penn State University and has completed the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL) PA Inspired Leaders Training program.
