'Secrets of Water' Photographs Displayed at HACC's Rose Lehrman Art Gallery

Exhibit opens June 18

June 5, 2014

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Rose Lehrman Art Gallery at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, will exhibit photographs by HACC student Rance Shepstone from June 18 through Aug. 28, 2014. A closing reception will be held for the artist on Aug. 28 from 5:30-7 p.m.

Currently studying photography at HACC, Shepstone has been taking photographs since he was sixteen years old. “My best photography work is about observations of nature, reflection and architecture,” he said. “Making art and being aware of nature is definitely something my parents and family instilled in me.”

The “Secrets of Water” exhibit features the reflective properties of water, both the stillness and movement, as can be seen in the beautiful colors and imagery captured by the artist.

The Rose Lehrman Art Gallery’s summer hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Thursday, or by appointment. For more information, contact Kim Banister, gallery curator, at 717-780-2435 or kebanist@hacc.edu.

The Rose Lehrman Art Gallery received state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
