HARRISBURG, Pa. – The HACC Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to raise private contributions in support of HACC, has approved more than $202,000 in funding for projects critical to the mission of the College. This funding is made possible through generous contributions from individual and organizational donors.

Linnie S. Carter, Ph.D., APR, vice president of college advancement at HACC and executive director of the HACC Foundation, said, “HACC is the largest and oldest community college in Pennsylvania. Therefore, we have more students to serve and more lives to change. With dwindling government financial resources, we rely upon our donors and the HACC Foundation now more than ever before."

"Having this phenomenal level of support from our donors – who include our alumni and employees – allows us to change lives and destinies in ways we could have never imagined when the College was established 51 years ago. We are grateful to those who support us philanthropically,” Carter said.

The funding from the HACC Foundation will be used for the following purposes:

Purpose of HACC Foundation Funding Benefit to Students and the College Fund Amount

Automotive students will benefit from software updates for existing scan tools and the refurbishment and replacement of worn out scan tools. The funds also will be used to purchse an on-vehicle brake lathe used in the automotive program. $19,500.00

  1. ParScore and Scantron for statistical data collection in the Nursing Department at the Harrisburg Campus
The purchase of a ParScore workstation will enable the Nursing Department to collect assessment data regarding the validity of test questions used in each course in both registered and practical nursing programs. In addition, collection of statistical data is required by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing for ongoing accreditation. $8,219.78

  1. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Membership Assistance Fund for students at all campuses
