July 6, 2016
HARRISBURG, Pa. – Project management, workplace diversity, communication and conflict resolution are key leadership skills sought by today’s employers. HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, and Bloomsburg University are hosting an information session on July 12, 2016, from 2-7 p.m. to share how students can learn these skills by attending HACC and Bloomsburg University.

The partnership allows HACC graduates who complete an Associate in Applied Science in majors such as architectural technology, automotive technology and mechatronics to easily transfer their 60 credits to Bloomsburg University to complete a Bachelor of Applied Science in Technical Leadership.

Most of Bloomsburg’s classes are held online and in the evenings to allow more flexibility for working students. Those classes that must be completed in person will be held at the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg.

“The partnership began in the fall of 2015. It benefits our alumni and current students. Alumni may be looking for opportunities to advance their technical skills to grow in their positions, and our current students are learning the emerging technology and opportunities to grow into supervisory and managerial positions in the workplace,” said Kathleen T. Doherty, Ph.D., associate provost at HACC.

Enrollment for the fall 2016 program is open. Part-time and full-time options are available to complete the program.

Interested students can attend the session any time from 2-7 p.m. at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on HACC’s Harrisburg Campus to ask questions and apply to the program. Registration to attend the session is not required.

For more information about the program, please contact Georgette Brown, bachelor of applied science coordinator for Bloomsburg University, at gbrown@bloomu.edu.
