HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, shares recent news and events with the community, including:
  • HACC to Host Open Enrollment Days in June 2016
  • HACC’s Gettysburg Campus to Host Community Education Day
 
HACC Hosts Open Enrollment Days in June 2016
 
Making the process as simple as possible for the student to enroll into college is key. HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, is doing just that with its Open Enrollment Days in June and August. Anyone can visit HACC’s campuses in Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon or York for Open Enrollment Days from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on June 6-8 and Aug. 8-10.
 
In one day, attendees can:
 
  • Learn about the extensive range of programs including, but not limited to: college classes in the high schools, weekend workshops, associate degree programs, job training programs, English as a Second Language (ESL), GED preparation and testing
  • Complete the free application for admissions
  • Meet with staff to discuss classes, financial aid and scholarships
  • Take a placement test
  • Register for classes
  • Pay bills

Also, thanks to the HACC Foundation, future students can enter a chance to win $500 for their fall 2016 tuition and fees at HACC while at the event.

HACC’s Gettysburg Campus to Host Community Education Day
 
Financial wellness, the history of baseball and TV writing are some of the topics that will be covered at the HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, Gettysburg Campus’ first-ever Community Education Day on June 14, 2016, from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m..
 
The event offers 18 informative, educational sessions on various topics including:
 
  • From Script to Syndication: A Step-by-Step Look at Producing a 30-Minute Comedy
  • Sustainability 101 – YOUR Ecological Footprint: What is it and Why Does it Matter?
  • Gettysburg 100 Years Ago: Gettysburg and World War One
  • Crack of the Bat: A History of the National Pastime
 
“Few of us find enough time for ourselves,” said Shannon Harvey, vice president of HACC’s Gettysburg Campus. “Life is busy and full of chores, challenges and commitments. Still, we all instinctively know that time spent on our own enrichment serves everyone in our lives. Health requires nourishment. Brain health requires learning. HACC’s Community Education Day is meant to nourish your brain and enrich your life.”
 
Participants can choose three of the 18 sessions for a registration fee of $49, which includes continental breakfast and lunch.
